WFMW: Honesty (Giveaway)

You know the cliche: Honesty is the best policy. I read so many of your blogs and think my gosh, she has it all together. Sure there was that time she was out in public begging for "girly" products or when that other chick got her shirt so colorfully decorated by her son's vomit. But all in all, we bloggers tend to take advantage of the fact that we can pick and choose what we want to share about our lives.

Don't get me wrong. I do love having that ability. But I want to challenge all of you to air your dirty laundry. What are you not on top of? What is the last thing in the world you would want your readers to know about you?

Do you have a sixth toe? Can you not tell the color of your car's interior because it hasn't been cleaned out in a year? Did you really serve that chicken after you dropped it on your "hasn't been mopped since the dog rolled around on it" kitchen floor?

I am daring you to share. What's in it for you, you ask? Well, how about a $25 dollar Target gift card! All I ask is you write a post airing your dirty laundry, leave your link in my comments and link back to this contest in that post. I'll give you all one week to enter and I'll draw a random number and post the winner on next Wednesday morning.

Can't wait to see what you all have hiding in your closets! What's that you say? What dirty laundry am I airing? Oh, OK...Those picture up there^, those are of my kitchen which I have been ignoring for a couple of days because...well, frankly...it scares me. There, now ya have me. My kitchen should be condemned. Now, it's your turn!

Plain English: Here is a simple breakdown of the rules since I wasn't very clear before:

1. Write a post on your blog airing your dirty laundry. Make sure to include a link back to this post so your readers can enter too. (Or don't if you don't have a blog. Whatever...)

2. Come back here and leave a comment linking to your post so my readers can come check out your blog.

3. Come back again on Wednesday, the 4th, and see who won the $25 Target card. It just might be you!

Entries will be accepted until midnight of the 3rd. So get hoppin'!

WOW. Where should I start? LOL
My laundry from my trip is still sitting here...along with more since we've been home for 2.5 days and there are 6 of us in this house. My yard hasn't been mown in probably 3 or 4 weeks...or longer. I usually stay in my pj's all day and so do my kids...i have a closet in the hallway that if opened will tumble down on your head, or foot, or whatever else might be outstretched at the time.

I rely on my friends for motivation...especially for the laundry. I will email a very good friend of mine and ask her what she's doing...then I feel bad because her house is always clean and mine isn't so I usually get up and do something.

Well, these aren't the greatest secrets...but they are my own. LOL

I'll go post in a bit and link back- but- I just caught up on landry last month and washed some 3-month sized clothes. My daughter hasn't fit in those since she was actually 3 or 4 months, and she is now 9 months. That would be 5 months since my laundry had last been caught up. grin

Hmm... air my dirty laundry to the blog world. Ok, I'm game. Here it is, no snickering. I've never washed my car. I've had it for a year and a half. And it's never - not ever - had a bath. I really like those hard rains, because they wash off most of the dirt, and I count on them. But we haven't had one of those in a while. I'm not so good about cleaning the inside of it either, so when I had to clean out a bit to fit more people in, I found (unused) newborn diapers and a bottle of formula (my son's been off formula for - count them - 7 months. And he's now in a size 4 diaper - very far from newborn. My poor, neglected car.

I blogged this (http://blog.athomewithkris.com/?p=594), but here's the shortened version:

At first, I thought to myself, “Kris, there’s nothing you wouldn’t share with your readers! How in the heck can you enter this giveaway for a $25 Target gift card??”

But then I got to thinking about my deep dark secret, the one thing that noone but my husband and kids (and probably my mom) know about me. Honestly, it’s not too horrible, but I hate to think of the time that I waste on this …. Are you ready for my confession? Ok, here goes …. I love celebrity gossip and the tabloids! There, I said it! I spend at least 30 minutes daily reading People.com and Popsugar.com, often visiting those sites several times daily to get the newest scoop. I also have a subscription to OK! magazine. I also had one to Star, but it expired and I didn’t renew. I don’t intend to renew OK! either … I only subscribed because I got them for $4.95/year at Best Deal Magazines last year.

Uh, yeah. My kitchen looks like that pretty much all the time! This whole linking here, linking back thing has me very confused! That's my dirty laundry, I'm not a blog guru.

There's other stuff too, but I'm in denial!

Oh, and after we moved into our new house, I didn't mop the floors-or clean them there than sweep now and then-for almost a YEAR. It just didn't cross my mind. Hubs hired a cleaning company to come once as a baby gift to me after Tank was born and when they left I realized my floors were a different color. Yikes.
