WFMW: Yummy Hummus!

I'm already a huge fan of garbanzo beans. I'm perfectly happy dumping a can full in a bowl, throwing on a little salad dressing and going to town. De-Lish-Us!!

But I just recently discovered a super quick, super yummy recipe for hummus and my family has been forever changed. We've been having it at almost every meal for the past week. Either slathered on fresh bread or smeared on a tasty sandwich...oh heck, sometimes I just eat it with a spoon, it's that good!

Anyway, here ya are! Let me know if you try it, k?

Drain one can of garbanzo beans and save about 4 tablespoons of the liquid.

Saute 2 to 4 cloves of chopped garlic in about 3 tablespoons of olive oil. (If your a big fan of garlic, use 4 cloves. Not so much? Just use 2.)

Let the garlic and olive oil cool while you go to town on the beans with either a food processor, magic bullet, or (my tool of choice) a Pampered Chef Food Chopper. Man, I love that thing.

Now add a few shakes of salt and pepper and a palm full of roasted sesame seeds.

Stir in your cooled garlic and olive oil and.....TADA! You've got some kick ass hummus.

For more great tips, head over to Shannon's!

I don't see why not! I am huge on taking recipes and making them work with what I've got lying around. Give it a shot and let me know. :)

I have been craving hummus! I quit making it because my blender couldn't handle smashing the garbanzo beans. I hadn't thought of using my food chopper. I'm going to check my cabinets now for some beans. Thanks for the tip.

I've tried hummus several times and I just can't bring myself to like it, although I will eat garbanzo beans in salads or dishes. The recipe sounds good--but it's hummus! Oh well. Thanks for sharing.

I like mine with the traditional tahini and a healthy dose of cayenne! Gotta have a food processor... Also, some recipes have you stir in lots of olive oil, but we squirt it on the plate and put the hummus on top and then you scoop the amount of oil you want with your pitas.
