Finding My Way Back

I feel like I was once walking down this pretty trail in the woods, surrounded by tiny saplings and boulders of all sizes carved by time and towering trees full of fluttering birds and tiny pouncing furry things, when all of a sudden something shiny distracted me and pulled me off of my path.

I don't know what it was or why I followed it, but all I know now is that my boots are back on the muddy trail, happily crunching over fallen pine needles and skipping over big roots.

TV, facebook, suburbia, hstle and bustle... just fine in small doses, but it has overwhelmed me lately.

Mr. Ordinary and I escaped to the woods recently and I was immediately revived when I didn't even realize I'd been knocked out for quite a while.

And I was reminded that wrting and sharing and visiting with you is like a chest full of fresh air, too. Ahhh. This space. Why do I ever leave it alone so long?

Well, my fellow hikers, let me catch you up just a bit.

The Ordinary Family is happily anticipating the arrival of our sixth little bundle. He or she will arrive mid-May.

I feel like I've run into an old friend I haven't seen in years and I just want to hug you and tell you so many things. I'll leave it at this for now, though. But let's do this again? Soon, okay?

So so happy for you! We need to sip coffee and/or do a play date together sometime girl. There aren't too too many mama's in Indy with a "full quiver" as my grandfather always called it. Never knew how I felt about that label but…archery is cool enough to handle the metaphor I suppose. We finally had our little girl, I think you commented on the birth story now that I think of it, so you know that. :) Hope to do some classes for the kiddos at the Y again soon but we haven't been in the groove there as a whole family for a while. I steal away for swims though. ;) email if you have a spare moment or two sometime.
